Freezing Weather Could Impact Holiday Travel

SOURCE: City of Corpus Christi press release

With freezing temperatures around the corner, Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) advises travelers to be mindful of the impact cold weather can have on travel and is making preparations to ensure a pleasant experience for customers.

CCIA reminds travelers to monitor their flight status and prepare for possible delays. CCIA will post flight delays and cancellations on their website’s flight information screen at www.flyccia.com. It is also highly recommended to download the app for your respective airline to receive the most current and up-to-date flight status and to easily rebook a flight without having to come to the airport or wait on hold.

Consider possible road hazards and provide ample time to arrive at the airport. Due to expected high traffic levels, we have expanded the overflow parking areas in our long-term parking lot. CCIA will offer free coffee and hot chocolate to passengers from Friday, December 23, through Sunday, December 25, first flight out until 12:00PM.

Moisture levels that could indicate contaminants on runways and taxiways are being monitored. CCIA staff is vigilant in looking out for leaks or pipe bursts, slippery sidewalks, cold temps in the terminal, or other hazards.

Please contact CCIA via the contact form on their website for any questions regarding CCIA operations.
