The Gospel Music Festival will take place Jan. 10-11,at the First Baptist Church, 1515 N. Live Oak St. in Rockport. The Gospel Music Festival begins onFriday, Jan. 10 with doors opening at 5pm. Concert starts at 6 p.m.andSaturday, Jan. 11, doors open at 10am with concert beginning at 11am.
Brian Arnold of Branson, Missouri returns this year as Master of Ceremonies. The opening song on Friday evening will be performed by Patti and Patrick McLeod. Featured Performances will be: The McNeill’s, Crimson River, Dale and Cheryl Golden. New to the festival this year is the group The Kinsmen. More entertainment throughout the weekend will be performances by: The McNeill’s, Crimson River, Golden, Song of Glory, The DeLawders, Brian Arnold, Singing Men of South Texas, Megan & Logan Pettis, Miles Pike, Johnny Hall, FBC Rockport Choir and our very own Rockport Gospel Force.
Rockport’s Gospel Force quartet has performed over 1,000 concerts since 1994 in Rockport and a number of other Texas cities including Wimberley, Freer, San Antonio, Bryan, Refugio, Victoria, Sinton, George West, Goliad, Portland, Beeville, Waxahachie, Red Oak, Henderson, Cedar Park, Beaumont, South Padre Island and Corpus Christi. The quartet was invited to sing at the state capital in Austin in March of 1997 and February of 1999, and February 2001 for Aransas Day. The Quartet has released four recordings: “The Next Time He Comes”, “I’ve Got a Mansion”, “And Cried Holy”, and the fourth titled “We Shall See Jesus”.
Admission to the Gospel Music Festival is free with a Love offering. Interpreting for the hearing impaired will be provided.
