Stand Sunday: Standing for Children in Foster Care

Corpus Christi, Texas, November 3, 2019

An event to inform, inspire and invite the community to STAND for children in foster care. Hear stories and learn the many ways we, as a community, can support children in crisis. From purchasing a gift for the Christmas store to becoming a CASA volunteer or a Foster parent. Each of these rolls plays an important part of the welfare of children in our community. There are more than 450 Children in foster care in Nueces County that need you to stand on their behalf.

Stand Sunday will be held at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship, 6602 S. Staples St. Corpus Christi, TX at 6:30 pm. This event is created in partnership with Care Portal, Agape Ranch, CASA, Texas Department of Family Protective Services, Pregnancy Center of the Coastal Bend, Foster Angels, Benchmark Family Services and many more.

This event is FREE to the public and will include a singer/songwriter showcase by recording artist Radney Foster as well as a panel discussion and information booths from community partners. There are no tickets to this event, it is first come, first serve general admission.

The Foster Care system is in crisis; however, it is a crisis that has a solution. Within churches and communities, there are more than enough resources for every child to be surrounded by a loving family, a healthy church and a caring community. Stand Sunday is an invitation to the church and the community to stand up and put an end to the foster care crisis in the Coastal Bend.” Joel Perritte, Care Portal Pastoral Ambassador- South Texas.
