Twitter Debate Erupts Over Whether To Wash Legs When Showering

While not everyone showers every day, when they finally do decide to wash off their body, it seems not everyone is washing every part of themselves.

A recent Twitter controversy erupted after user Conor Arpwel posed the question “Do you wash your legs when you take a shower?” While Conor himself does, he was surprised to realize that some folks don’t. In fact, his poll finds about 80% of people wash their legs while showering, while 20% skip it.

As you can imagine, plenty of folks chimed in on the subject, with several wondering what type of people skipped their legs.

  • “Are there people who do not feel the need to.... wash their legs...,” one person wrote, while another offered to send a loofah to anyone who said they didn’t. Another person shared, “I don’t just wash.. I scrub e v e r y part of my body (with exfoliating gloves and a wash cloth), everyday in the shower,'” adding, “Including behind the ears, belly button and every other place your mind can imagine.”
  • But there were some who admitted to skipping their legs on occasion, and even attempted to justify it. “I feel like you don't really need to wash your legs, you wash your top 3/4 and the soap and water runs down,” one person noted. “Unless you're extraordinarily dirty for some reason.” Another person agreed, writing, “How the f*** are you legs getting so dirty you need to regularly wash them with soap and water?…It's a waste of time and it's bad for your skin.”
