Bamas Blog: 1963 is one of my favorite years for old cars

1963 is one of my favorite years for old cars. So lets start out with a favorite of everybody’s….the 1963 Corvette “Stingray”. It was a new body style that the Chevy designers wanted to capture European styling and flair. There were 2 body styles this time…the convertible and for the first time, a Corvette coupe. It is the only year the Vette had the rear ‘split window” in the back. Collectors go crazy for these and they bring a premium. On the front, the headlights were hidden and flipped up. It came with a 327, 250 horsepower engine and an all new chassis that was lower to the ground. They sold over 22,000 cars that year.
