Tragedy over Dallas at an airshow involving the “CAF” group. Condolences to all the families ,of course. The B-17 plane, named “Texas Raiders”, has an interesting past and was famous for the ad campaign from GSD&M with the “Don’t Mess With Texas” Anti-litter campaign. It showed a pick-up truck with a man throwing out a can on an old remote country road out in the hill country and the “Texas raiders” plane flying at ground level coming straight for the camera and said the “CAF” is after you. It was an extremely successful campaign and was responsible for an estimated eighty percent reduction in litter across Texas state wide. Stevie Ray Vaughn was also featured in another of the ads as well. Such a great loss in both personnel and aircraft. So very sad.
