Bama's Blog: The Buda Car Show

I was talking about cars that were at the Buda car show Saturday. I saw a friend of mine who is 83 years old. I’ve known him for about 25 years. He is just the nicest guy and he is fighting cancer again…for the third time. He has the most beautiful 40 Ford coupe. All of his cars have always been beautiful. He has driven it everywhere. He has a picture of it on the Bonneville salt flats. He inspires me to, like Toby Keith said he was told by Clint Eastwood, “Don’t let the old man in”.

At 64, I think about getting older. But I am planning my next car project. I’m painting a 57 Chevy for a friend. Then his personal truck. Then another car for my other friend. All the while, I’ll be working on my 32 Ford coupe, getting it ready. And then, I plan to build a 30 Model A coupe street rod. I will wait a week until I get the 3 affordable houses I built this past 2 years finished..which should be in a couple of weeks. I then am planning a trip to Chicago to see a car buddy and then next year…a trip to Bonneville for myself. Don’t let the old man in..indeed.
