C'mon Get Happy: 14 yo Makes Cupcakes a Business AND Charity!

Michael Platt lives in Bowie, Maryland. He is 14. He has been cooking since he was 9. At that young age, he started cooking with his grandma, and pretty soon had turned his cupcakes into a business. Being so young, he had no experience with business and did not know how to set it up. At the same time, Michael was given a pair of Tom's shoes. Tom's has a very specific one-for-one business model: for each pair of shoes you buy, a person in need is given a pair of shoes. Michael thought that might be a good plan for him--so now, for each cupcake he sells, he gives one to someone who needs food. Incredible! He has his own charity--and has even given a TED talk!!
