Officer Joshua Herrera of the Las Cruces Police Department in New Mexico had an eventful day recently when he rescued a pair of baby bunnies while on duty. While on patrol, Officer Herrera noticed two bunnies that were alone and covered in ants. He cleaned them off and sent them on their way.
But when he doubled back, he noticed that they were once again full of ants.
So, he put the bunnies in his vest and cared for them until he could pass them along to someone from an animal sanctuary.
The bunnies are now safe and thriving at the Stick House Sanctuary, thanks to the caring attention of Officer Herrera.
