What would you do if you found $6,000? Morgan Burnley works at Papa John's in Manassas, Virginia. She did not even consider keeping the money. She found the $6606 in cash next to a dumpster when she took the trash out at work. She called the Sheriff's office and told them she had found the cash by the dumpster. She also decided she would keep an eye on the dumpster, knowing someone would be back to look for the money. Sure enough--a nearby business owner came looking around the dumpster.
A Sheriff's deputy returned the money it to its rightful owner. He had accidentally thrown it away while taking out garbage.
The Sheriff's department praised Burnley for her honesty, and given a special award. Burnley said she remembers what her parents taught her, about doing the right thing. The business owner was so thankful for her honesty that he also gave her a small reward. Good job!!
