C'mon Get Happy: Stranger Donates Motorized Wheelchair to Young Man

In Tennessee, a complete stranger changed the life of a mother and her son by giving them a power wheelchair.

Susan Scates was traveling from North Carolina to Oklahoma with her son, Travis. They stopped at a restaurant in Tennessee for dinner, where Travis moved through the dining area in his manual wheelchair.

When they were paying their bill, a man approached Susan and asked how she liked her son's wheelchair. She replied that that it was OK -- but not perfect.

The man then asked if they wanted a power chair for Travis. Susan explained that it was something the family eventually wanted to get for him -- but couldn’t afford at the moment. The man said: when I asked you if you WANTED a power chair for your son, I meant: I have a power wheelchair that I would like to give to your son. He said: God told me to come over here and offer you the wheelchair I have. I am just being obedient.

Sure enough. The man actually had a brand-new chair, which Susan and Travis were able to pick up and put to very good use.

The man wishes to remain anonymous, but Susan and Travis will never forget him or the impact he has had on their family.
