A mystery shopper paid of customers' layaway items at a Walmart in Vermont. The Walmart store's storage room was already filled with layaway items. One woman was at the store to pick up a package when she overheard the man asking if he could pay off people's layaway.
The man turned around to the woman and offered the same. "He said, 'Why don't you run and get what you want now and come back here.'"
She said she was skeptical, but left the line to gather the items she had planned to put on layaway. "I came back and he was standing there waiting. There was no one left." The man had paid for everyone in the line. She was the last one...
The lady at the store said there were people ahead of her with 800 and 900 dollar layaways. She said she was in shock, and asked the man why he was doing it. She said to him: no one can afford to pay everyone's bill. He said: Santa Claus can.
Walmart did not disclose how much money he spent--and someone got a photo of him walking away. He wants to stay anonymous. He made some people's Christmas even brighter!
