C'mon Get Happy: Florence, TX Helps the Carolinas!

The city of Florence, Texas, has a population of just over 1,000 -- but they all rallied in a big way to donate a truckload of supplies for hurricane victims in North Carolina.

Just last year, many of the people in Florence were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Knowing just how disruptive such a disaster was, adults and kids alike collected and loaded a truck with supplies, including 300 box fans.

That truck then made its way to the city of New Bern, North Carolina, 1,400 miles away, driven by a local pastor, Joey Potter.

Charity organizer Tiesa Hollaway was proud of the effort, calling Florence, “Small, but mighty.”

And thanks to that mighty effort, hundreds of families in North Carolina will have a bit more comfort and help as they recover from the recent storm.
