Everyone who works for a living looks forward to a day when they can finally retire, but for many it can be hard to do financially.

An Oregon man named Richard Nelson figured out the best way to make retirement easier -- by winning the lottery just one week before his last day of work.

Nelson picked July 5th to be his last day at the factory where he works as a millwright. So as he was preparing for life after retirement, he decided to try his luck at a scratch-off lottery game ... and he won!

Nelson won the grand prize on the Win for Life game and will receive $1,000 a week for the rest of his life, which should make retirement so much easier for him.

He says the money will help him enjoy retirement and also spend quality time with his grandchildren.
