A 42-year-old guy in New York named Corey Simmons was on the subway last week. And he was staring at a piece of paper with a bunch of math problems on it. Then a few minutes later, an older guy got on at another stop, sat down next to him, and asked what he was up to. It turned out Corey's third-grade son had just failed a math test. And he was trying to re-learn how to do fractions, so he could teach his son how to do them.
He told the guy he struggled with math as a kid too, and hadn't studied fractions in over 30 years. So he was having a hard time with it. But luckily the guy happened to be a former MATH teacher and offered to help. A woman sitting across from them heard their whole conversation, and posted a photo of them on Facebook that's now been shared over 40,000 times.
