C'mon Get Happy: Disabled Students Create Beautiful Invitations

A unique company in Naperville, Illinois, helps both the environment and students with disabilities, all while bringing joy to couples getting married.

The company, called microConnections, creates wedding invitations out of recycled paper -- and is actually run by young adult students with disabilities.

The wedding invitations are made from recycled paper, which is gathered from recycling bins in area classrooms.

The students shred the paper and recreate this raw material into creative, colorful and artistic invitations.

And, because the students think and learn in different ways, they follow instructions on laminated pictures instead of written words.

The brides and grooms who receive -- and then give away -- the invitations are thrilled because the cards are not only beautiful, but also part of the community, made from paper at the schools and made by hardworking students learning skills that will help them succeed.
