C'mon Get Happy: This Nurse's Care Goes Over & Above!

About a year ago, a nurse in Jacksonville, Florida named Jess Hamm had to treat a 14-month-old girl named Delilah who'd been severely abused. She showed up to the pediatric ICU malnourished, and injured. She was in bad shape. Then, the nurse found out Delilah had a twin sister named Caroline who was also at the hospital being treated for similar injuries. Jess said it broke her heart seeing these little girls in such bad shape. So, she adopted both of them!! They're about two years old now, and they've totally recovered.  They're both happy, healthy, and meeting all their developmental goals.

Jess said she never really considered adoption until she met these girls. She says she knew instinctively she was in love when she first met Delilah in the the pediatric intensive care unit. That became all the more sweet when she found out Delilah had a twin!  She says she hopes the story inspires other people to adopt. Both girls are thriving! Jess says they have very different personalities, and both girls are doing great!!
