A student in London recently woke from a nap and found out that her dream had come true.
23-year-old Ella Johannessen was travelling on a train from London to Leeds and called her mother on the phone to vent about her financial problems.
The college senior had fallen into debt because she had to quit her job to focus on her studies. Meanwhile, as she was talking to her mother, a stranger sitting nearby happened to hear what she was saying.
After Ella hung up, she promptly fell asleep. When she woke up 30 minutes later, she found that somebody had left a folded up napkin on her lap with about $140 inside.
Ella says she started to cry. In addition to her money problems, she also lost her father and both of her grandparents. She said the kind gesture "showed me that there is kindness and good people in the world.”
Ella wrote about the random act of kindness on Facebook and is hoping that her thank you note will find its way to the generous stranger.
