C'mon Get Happy: Police Save the Day!!

Police in Texas responded to a call at a boy's eighth birthday party, but it wasn't because someone stole the cake or cheated at Pin the Tail on the Donkey. It was because none of the invited guests showed up.

Graham Day sent out invitations to his eighth birthday party and not one person responded. Still, though, his parents were hopeful that some of the kids might show up so they baked a cake and bought pizza. But no one came, and it's not the first time this has happened.

Graham's mom, Jennifer, says the same thing happened for his sixth birthday and, this time, Graham was really crushed. She says, "This time something snapped in me and it was like no, this is not happening to him again."

Jennifer was determined to get people to come to her son's birthday, so she and her husband went to the police station and invited the officers to the party because Graham dreams of being a police officer someday.

Moments later, a group of officers and even firefighters showed up at their door to sing "Happy Birthday" to Graham and eat some cake. Some neighbors got wind of the party too and also showed up with their kids.

Jennifer was overwhelmed by the amount of support they got. She says, "Something like this, it literally guts you as a parent because you can't fix it, at least in that moment." She adds that the police and fire departments "went above and beyond and made his day."
