Heather Got Phished By a Former Boss!

I was goofing on Instagram and got a follow suggestion of a former boss...this was intriguing because this person was always polite to me and cordial, but (I thought) never liked me, and I didn’t get it. I actually thought it kind of unfair, but, whatever, that person is one of many bosses in my past I have outlasted, so...

I decided to follow this person and they almost immediately DMed me, which made me happy—like, hey, maybe they realized, after all these years that they misjudged me, and that I *was* a good employee, and that they should’ve appreciated me, yada, yada, yada. Now, I will say, there were grammatical errors I did not expect, but I chalked them up to talk-to-text or just a mistake. So, I answered, thoroughly, and enthusiastically. Then they answered vaguely, and with more grammatical errors...and then started ASKING FOR MONEY. No matter what kind of a boss this person may have been, if it was really them, they would NEVER hit me up for cash. So my semi-lame need for this fired-long-ago person’s approval got me phished. Oops. Sucker.
