No one was happier than I was to hear that I could skip the dreaded colonoscopy and instead get the Cologuard at-home kit! Once I got it, it was quite the kit! It came with all kinds of contraptions and a jar for my “specimen” and elaborate instructions as to size and circumstances and gut health, if you get my drift...I shut myself into the bathroom to take care of this important medical test. Then, of course, the reassembly of the kit and labeling of all the parts whilst keeping everything clean and contained and did I mention clean?
Seriously, it was kind of gross—and I am kind of a tough gal, and this one pushed me to about as far as I’d like to go. 😊 It was well-designed, with a sealed jar inside of a ziplock bag inside the sealed box that was to immediately return to the lab. I then sealed the box more with a LOT of tape because I didn’t want the lovely people at UPS to have to get to know me any any sort of super personal way, you know? I know I’m being cheeky about it, but I just kept thinking about the poor soul who had to open that box!! <<shudder>>
Then I’m selfish again and am psyched not to have to do a colonoscopy! It’s a vicious cycle...the bottom line (insert joke here), I’m sorry, UPS lady. 🌺
