Dick Trickle was a NASCAR legend. He was one of the original short track champions that raced for years all over the country. As he got much older, some car owners realized he had major talent but it's a young man's sport so he never got the best, most competitive equipment. He fared ok in the cup series, no wins, but what he is best known for is he was an in- car camera car during a race and when there was a caution lap, he pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and smoked it live on the TV. Now mind you, he was still going over a 100 miles an hour even though it was under a caution. Ironically, NASCAR used to be sponsored by R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Co. but was banned from sponsoring sporting events. Cup cars are coming to Austin...can't wait.
