Not dead yet! It’s not just a quote from Monty Python—it’s the word from the experts at Texas A&M. Our beautiful Live Oaks that look like they might not have survived the February freeze may still have life in them yet! As in, don’t do what I did, and call for the arborist to put the seemingly dead tree out of its misery. Thankfully, A&M put the word out to WAIT!
In our neighborhood, in a common area, it looks as though the HOA has marked a few dozen trees to be cut down—and I certainly hope that the people in charge have seen the article.
The gist is, if your trees are looking sparse, do not flip out, this year, all trees are slow to recover—if you have no leaves by July, then yes, it is dead.
