The 1966 Ford Mustang is about as American as you can get. Everyone has a Mustang story (You are thinking about yours right now). I have so many great stories because I have had three in my past that I have owned. Raced them, drove them like I stole them and I remember changing out a water pump in about 20 minutes. Reliable, affordable and really simple to fix and keep on the road. Mine all have been 66's. So yesterday was a tough day for me. After having over 50 classic car projects in the last 10 years, I am down to just one last car. A Red 66 coupe. I drove it over to my partner Mickey's house. He sells my cars for me. I was thinking what a beautiful day it was... window down, just cruising along the back roads towards South Austin to his place. It is the last classic I own. I've had my fun but the passion for classic cars has left me now. My car buddies tell me I will get another one, some type of old car, but I don't know. I've had close to 80 in my 63 years so I've pretty much had everything you could drive. But this Mustang, it is a good one to end on. And the drive was a nice one, although kinda sad.
