Family farms have historically been a place to work and live. Family farms would be in a family for generations. That is what was supposed to happen with David and his family. The farm was passed down from generation to generation until one heir decided they wanted out, and the farm was sold.
David and his dad had lived on the farm, and wanted to get the farm back. They started saving money and hoping for a miracle to get the farm back. When the auction actually took place, about 200 people were at the auction and David and his father thought they would never be able to afford to buy it back. The auctioneer opened the bidding, and David bid. They then held their breaths and prayed. Something amazing happened--or DIDN'T happen. NO ONE BID!! The auctioneer tried three times to get someone to raise David and his dad's bid--but no one said a word. These farmers WANTED the family to get their farm back--and miraculously, they did!!
