A Scottish man recently lost his mother, but he will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to say goodbye and to be with her when she took her last breath. And he is forever grateful for the kind and compassionate stranger who made it happen.
Ron Gillies and his wife, Sharleen, were traveling 200 miles hoping to make it to his dying mother in time when they got into a car accident and were left stranded on the side of the road.
Ron was told by his insurance company that it would take a few hours for someone to pick them up, and they'd only be able to give them a lift to a train station.
But then moments later, Dean Moore was driving by and pulled over to see if they needed help. Ron explained their predicament and Dean offered to drive them the rest of the way.
Dean drove the couple more than three hours and got them to their mother's bedside. He then turned around and drove another three hours to get home.
Ron got to spend three hours with his mom before she died, but says, "I just can’t put into words what that lad did for us."
