On Thanksgiving, 35 years ago, Norman Oliver first delivered food prepared by his mother to homeless people in his community of Wilmington, Delaware.
And every year since then, he’s attempted to collect and deliver more food to those in need.
This year is no different as Norman -- and all the volunteers who now step up to help -- will deliver more than 5,000 turkeys to Boys & Girls Clubs and senior communities, where poor families can pick them up and enjoy a special meal this Thanksgiving.
All of this is made possible because of the volunteers who collect donations and deliver the food -- but they’re all inspired by the man who started it all decades ago, “Stormin’ Norman,” who has made it his life’s mission to provide affordable Thanksgiving meals for those less fortunate.
