17-year-old Jocelyn Marencik of Henrico, Virginia, loves to program computers -- and wants other school kids to get into programming as well.
But instead of just talking about it, Jocelyn has been raising money through a crowdfunding campaign, donations, grants and selling crafts -- and then using that money to buy technology that she’s giving to schools in her area.
Amazingly, she’s already raised and donated $40,000 worth of technology, helping more than 80 schools in central Virginia.
Jocelyn has no plans to slow down. She’s on a mission to make sure kids have access to computers and other technology that can prepare them for the future. She also hopes her story can inspire people outside of the classroom.
