One of the things that is a shock, when you first become a parent, is how expensive diapers are. Families that are having financial problems often have to make tough choices paying all their bills. A group in New York's mission is providing disadvantaged families with diapers. Babies can be so expensive--and the CNY Diaper Bank helps families out.
CNY Diaper bank is in Syracuse, New York. The charity group chose not to open another food pantry, but instead created a "diaper bank" to make sure diapers were made available to poor families.
The CNY Diaper Bank was recently given a $10,000 award for their work, which they turned into 107,000 diapers. The group, amazingly, sends out about 30,000 diapers a month -- and has given away over 330,000 diapers since starting up in 2016.
The generosity of the group and those who support it affect families in a big way, because every free diaper delivery allows families to spend more of their money on other necessities.
