A guy named Glenn Elvenholl was on his roof hanging Christmas lights last Friday while his 8-year-old son held the ladder. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea...in the middle of it, Glenn realized it was a bad idea, and decided to climb down. As he was climbing down, the ladder slipped, of course, and he fell about 8 feet!!
The EMS guys where he lives, near Denver, came out to help him and took him to the hospital. He ended up with a broken leg and dislocated ankle--and needed 2 surgeries. That rules out Glenn finishing the holiday decorating for this year. So what did the firefighters do, after they loaded him in the ambulance? They stayed and finished hanging all the Christmas lights!! The firefighters used Glenn's ladder--but they had other firefighters to hold it steady. :)
The firemen said they did it to cheer up Glenn's kids--and so when he came home from the hospital, it was done, and he wouldn't be reminded of what happened.
