Beau is a sophomore at Lexington high school. On April 6th, 2017 he was diagnosed with stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. He has been in the homebound program since school started. The community has stood behind Beau since day one.
Last Friday night was Lexington homecoming. Beau was voted by his sophomore class to be class favorite which was so awesome for Beau. After his long week of outpatient chemotherapy Beau stood on the field representing his class. As the half time show came to an end the Homecoming King stepped away from the beautiful Homecoming Queen and walked up to Beau took him by his hand and walked him forward to the front and handed over his crown and sash to Beau stating he truly deserved it.
Four amazing, selfless, kind-hearted young men decided that no matter who won Homecoming King Beau deserved it. They told the principal moments before half time, so no one saw this coming. It was caught on video by Homecoming King Brandon D's mom. True kindness, and selflessness was shown to a small-town teen. It made him feel truly loved, and showed again this amazing community, standing behind his fight to beat cancer. Beau hasn't stopped smiling since!
