The Cluett family was staying in a lakeside hut in Scotland, on a little vacation adventure...when they woke up one morning, they found that their canoe had washed away in an overnight storm--and they were STRANDED!!
They were in a pickle--to get out of the area, they would have had to walk several miles over boggy ground to get out. So, the dad called the police to see if there was any way he, his wife, and their four children, ages 6 to 12 could be rescued. The policeman said there would be a train coming through the area later in the day. But, it wasn’t just any train. Instead, it was the Hogwarts Express steam train that took Harry Potter and his friends to school in the movies. The dad said his children are all Harry Potter fans, and were really, really excited about what had become a FUN adventure!! He said they all know the stories and know the movies were filmed in the Scottish Highlands...
The dad, John Cluett, is the pastor of a church in Stirling, central Scotland, is hopeful someone will find his canoe and give the story a perfect happy ending.
“It’s got to turn up at some point. The thing is 16-foot-long, red and floats,” he said.
