Folks in Beaumont needed help after Hurricane Harvey. It was a big surprise when a massive, Douglas C-47 plane from WWII showed chock full of relief supplies!! The plane is called the Bluebonnet Belle, and it generally only comes out for air shows--but when officials put out a call for a plane big enough to transport all the supplied they had collected, the Commemorative Air Force Highland Lakes Squadron stepped up. The C-47 can hold 4000 pounds of cargo...in WWII, this plane delivered supplies to people in dire straits. This weekend the plane made multiple trips to help out.
Roads were still flooded in some of the areas where they were delivering supplies, and the only way in was by air. Awesome!!
