Xander Rose hitched a ride on a motorcycle and was accompanied by about 200 bikers as he made his way from his home to Harbourside Elementary in Nova Scotia. He is ten years old, and did not want to go to school. Young Xander has been harassed by bullies since the beginning of the school year and even received death threats.
His mom reached out to the school and other social groups, trying to get him help. Xander had become withdrawn and did not want to go to school. So mom then reached out to a US-based biker organization called Defenders of the Children to help out.
With two lines of tough-looking bikers clad in leather, Xander made a big entrance Wednesday morning. Xander and the bikers walked in his school’s front doors set on delivering a message: bullying is not okay.
Xander rode on the back of one of the bikes all the way to school, and waved at people who lined the roads. He says he feels much better about school and handling the bullies.
