Bill Hanson of New Jersey retired from his job at 65 years old. He had been looking forward to his retirement. But it didn't take long for boredom to set in, so he came out of retirement and worked for another 32 years before retiring again three years ago at the age of 97.
But Bill got bored again. So with his 100th birthday approaching, he asked for the one gift that would make him happy – his old job back. The company where he worked for years--Hutchinson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling--was happy to oblige. They agreed to hire him to work on his 100th birthday. They drew up an employee contract just for him and paid him $1. But they also gave him a birthday cake and a standing ovation. Bill says he loved every minute of it.
So Bill is retired yet again ... but for how long no one really knows.
