Elon Musk will live on forever in Texas thanks to a statue erected in his honor. What remains a mystery, however, is whether or not the SpaceX founder and CEO will accept the gift.
The 20-foot statue which features the Twitter CEO's head on a goat's body straddling a rocket is making its way to Texas right now and it's expected to be delivered to Musk on November 26, according to KTXS. Why a goat? Why a rocket? It's the "world's first Crypto Token marketing concept" for cryptocurrency firm Elon GOAT Token ($EGT).
"We just put a goat on a rocket with him on it because I think that he's, he's the goat in his industry," developer Ashley Sansalone told the news outlet. "We're gonna throw an event, gather up a bunch of cars, ideally as many Teslas as possible, and then we'll deliver it to, to Tesla Giga factory here in Austin and just hope for the best. I mean, it really is kind of a crazy viral marketing plan."
Elon is believed to know about the gift, but it's unclear whether or not he will accept it.
Sansalone said her company raised over half a million dollars from the community to build the giant statue. $EGT hired California designer Danny Wang to create the design and renderings. The metal sculpture was then brought to life by Kevin Stone. The rocket and goat body were created in Phoenix by Spectacle Works.
"We're just excited to see what happens one way or the other. And we're hoping that his acknowledgment of the monument leads to building a stronger cryptocurrency because we're excited to build up more, more on the token," Sansalone said.
If you want to be a part of the big delivery day dubbed "GOATSGiving in Austin," you can register here. $EGT is planning a big party where fans can join in on the trip to the Giga factory.
