Next time you visit a grocery store in Texas, be sure to bring your hand!

Palm-reading technology is now available at select Whole Foods Market locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, thanks to Amazon. This technology can be found at the Irving and Highland Village locations as of Tuesday (November 8), according to NBC DFW. "Amazon One" will roll out across all 16 North Texas Whole Foods locations in the next few weeks.

You may have already experienced this palm-reading technology at some airport stores at Dallas Love Field and DFW International Airport or at concession stands at Texas A&M's Kyle Field. It's also available at Whole Foods locations in Seattle, California and New York. Some Austin locations have it, too.

Here's how it works:

Customers will first need to "enroll their palm" and link payment at a store kiosk wherever the Amazon One technology is available, according to The Dallas Morning News. A cashier will still scan your items like normal, except instead of reaching into your wallet for payment, you'll wave your palm above the card-reading machine to complete the transaction. If you're worried about privacy, your palm will not be stored on Amazon One devices. "They are encrypted and sent to a secure area custom-built for Amazon One in the cloud," the news outlet reports.

In more grocery store technology news, H-E-B just launched "fast scan" at some of its locations which allows you to check out and leave the store without ever removing anything from your cart to scan.
