Patrick Says Senate May Finally Approve Constitutional Carry

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick says he's optimistic about getting the votes he needs in the Texas Senate to pass a bill allowing permitless carrying of handguns. The House passed a constitutional carry bill earlier this month, and it appears to be headed for the floor of the Senate this week. Patrick said last week that he didn't have the 18 votes needed to open the debate on the Senate floor, but he's working on it. Governor Greg Abbott has said he'll sign the bill if it makes it to his desk.
