Ari's got a new gig!

Ariana Grande has landed a part in Ryan Murphy's upcoming feature adaptation of the Tony-nominated stage musical, The Prom, Deadline reports. On Tuesday (June 25), the outlet announced the "7 Rings" singer among the film's ensemble cast including Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and Andrew Rannells.

Murphy's The Prom will Streep as Dee Dee Allen, a retired, two-time Tony-winning actress who bands with Corden's character to revive their characters following the failure of Eleanor Roosevelt-inspired musical. Joining them are Broadway babies Angie and Trent (played by Kidman and Rannells), who together place their faith in the unfilled role of Indianian high school senior Emma, who is troubled with being unable to take her girlfriend to the prom.

According to Deadline, Grande will play the character Alyssa, "a popular daughter of the head of the PTA," for which Awkwafina's Ms. Sheldon serves as the group's publicist, who finds an ally in Key's Principal Hawkins, who is also Streep's romantic interest in the movie.

Of course, Grande's involvement won't stop at acting. She'll also be producing the soundtrack for the project, slated for a fall 2020 release before it premieres on Netflix.

The Prom will be the "Light Is Coming" musician's first film role in three years. Her last movie spot was a cameo in 2016's Zoolander 2.
