Gwen Stefani Says There's 'Zero Pressure' To Get Engaged To Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are one of the year's most-talked-about celebrity couples, but the buzz around a potential engagement is not getting to them even as we dive deeper into the holiday season.

In her recent interview with TODAY, the former No Doubt frontman spoke to the long-running morning show's host Natalie Morales about the media pressure to escalate their romance. "There is zero pressure. When there's trauma the way that we had trauma back in the day going through all these hard times and to get to a place where you find somebody that's like your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and go through life," she explained. "We're just trying to go through the moment as much as you can."

Asked if the country superstar is her "forever" romance, the pop star appeared confident in reveling in Shelton for the rest of her life. "I hope so," the 49-year-old said with a gleaming smile.

In November, Us Weekly revealed that the pair is "determined to have a child together" and steadily working on the surrogacy process. "They are in the final stages of choosing the woman who will carry their baby. It's extremely important to Gwen that she give Blake a biological child, and Blake is so excited," the insider explained, adding that Blake "wants his own child, too." Stefani is currently mother to sons Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10 and Apollo, 4, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Meanwhile, Shelton did not have any children with ex-wife Miranda Lambert. "Gwen just is so in awe of the love Blake has, not only for her but for the boys," the insider added.
