Puppies! My husband and I married far after we had babies, so we said it’d be nice if we could have a fur baby. So we will be adding a member to our family! My children are very excited to add another “sibling” as are my parents about a grand-dog. (My mother used to complain back when I had not yet had children that she couldn’t very well show off pictures of a *dog*).
Now it’s all about potty training and feeding and getting on a schedule and teaching the little one manners and good habits. It’s like being a parent all over again!
Now, unlike with our babies, we could send the young’un to obedience school at some point—which we might. I’d like to know what y’all think about that—have you done that? Have you trained dogs on your own? What are your thoughts on crating the dogs when you are not at home? Since it has been years since I had a fur baby myself—I need all the advice I can get. It will be a couple of months before this sweetie comes into our home—he was just born this past weekend! We are so excited—and like all new parents, we welcome advice from other parents!
