A 94-year-old woman in Tennessee has finally been reunited with the wedding ring she lost nearly 50 years ago, and it's all thanks to a man who just happened to overhear her talking about it.
Wesley White was visiting his mother at a senior care facility when he overheard Florene Bush talking about the wedding ring she lost in the '70s.
Wesley, who is a metal detector enthusiast, was immediately interested. He asked where she may have lost it, and she told him it happened while she was gardening near her home.
Wesley asked where the home was and then grabbed his metal detector and got to work.
Amazingly, after about 90 minutes of searching, he found the ring buried about five inches in the dirt. Florene's son, Frank, said his mom spoke wistfully about that ring for all his life. Wesley and a friend who was helping him came back to the facility saying: 'We found it! We found it!" He brought the ring to a very grateful Florene who said, "I didn't think I'd ever see it again. It's very special."
