The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for ground beef over concerns it may be contaminated by E. coli.

Greater Omaha Packing Co. Inc. produced the ground beef on March 28, 2024, and sold it at retailers across the country. Its use/Freeze by date is April 22, 2024.

The products also include the establishment number “EST. 960A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. You can view the full list of products here.

Because the ground beef is no longer available for sale, it is not subject to recall. The FSIS said that anybody who froze the ground beef should dispose of it immediately out of an abundance of caution.

E. coli symptoms include stomach pain and bloody diarrhea. While most people recover within five to seven days, others can develop severe or life-threatening symptoms and complications, especially in children under five and older adults.
