Dish Network and DirecTV are hiking prices.

The trend of price increases from the last several years is continuing, and subscribers to the satellite TV services will see increases and fee hikes starting in January.

Both companies started notifying customers just before Christmas that monthly rates will be going up from between 2 and 5 dollars.

DirecTV's 4.4% hike is more than last year's 3.2% increase. Dish Network's hike is higher, 5.5%, but that's lower than the huge 16.3% increase last year. But Dish is keeping rates the same on some of its plans.
