Some game industry watchers are forecasting the end of the home console - like Xbox and PlayStation.

They're citing increased competition from mobile games, a resurging PC game market, and the spiraling costs of developing new games.

Microsoft and Sony bragged about the sales of their respective new consoles, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but sales are actually not doing very well compared to previous consoles.

The cost of developing new game titles keeps going up too.

And with fewer consoles being sold than previous generations, industry experts say they think the downward spiral will only get worse.
